private school scholarship funds -elementary school

I have two great children, Mataya is 6 and deVaughn is soon to be 5.  both attended private school last year and I loved the school.  Unfortunetly divorce and a couple other turn of events leaves me penniless- and living paycheck to paycheck leaves no money for the school of my choice- Dobson Montessori.  Are ther any programs available to assit with funding private middle schools? Help please.  My children have endured a lot the past year, I really would love to keep them in the same school - the stability of friends, teachers and familiarity would be in their best interest.

 in response to maloulou...   There are some scholaships or grants for having a mother with cancer. I don't know if she is a single parent, but there are also funds for that. I remember seeing information on this when I was searching for help with my kids tuition. Just google it.

I am a grandmother with 2 granddaughter's, living from pay to pay check. last semester, my grandchildren were attending private elementary school, at the end of the semester, I was told by the principal that the girls couldn't return to school due to 7000 dollars tuition due. I love the school because of the education they were receiving. the teachers are very educated, the school environment is clean, and the children would love to return to the same school because of the stability of teacher's, friends, and the familiarity would be great for them.
Can someone help please with this amount, or can I be referred to someone who could help. My grandchildren endured so much due to their mother condition with cancer. Pls I am asking for help here because I would like for my grandchildren to get a good education at the school they really want to attend.

 in response to shiggs...   Step Up For Students and McKay Scholarships provide scholarships in the state of Florida. There are requirements for eligibility such as income (which is very generous) and the McKay is only for students on a 504 or IEP. Step up for Students is for any student though. Do an internet search and you'll find the links.

 in response to shiggs...   I agree I am an adult with both of these disorders. If I would have had the means my life well, let's just say not as bad. We need these and so many others to have a chance to shine in there owen way... We are special and talented, you put us with those that don't understand we just fade into....there has to be a way for our kids to have a life with out this pain....as a kid there sould be only the beautiful achievements and lots of love!!!

NO ONE should MESS with migraine headaches..!.I had them from age 12 on, but? TIMES and MEDICAL SCIENCE WERE A WHOLE LOT DIFFERENT IN THE 1950's~!
NOW? I have had a LOT of work done and a lot of other issues...and the headaches are MINIMAL....
YOUR BEST BET? TAKE HER TO THE BESTEST NEUROSURGEON IN YOUR AREA..one? PERHAPS connected with a UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL and make SURE that you 'check his education, his background' OUT BEFORE YOU GO THERE>
I have a 14yr. old G.daughter who started this, too, last year! Accupuncture is working for her now with? deep deep visits with a top group in our state on this sort of thing and in SUPPORT AND PRIVATE SESSIONS IN a PSYCH GROUPING. SEEK THAT HELP as there is MORE NOW out there then in the 1950's~ ALSO? perhaps? some Myofacial Therapy RELEASE will work, too, THE NEURO SURGEON OR A NEUROLOGIST NEEDS TO WRITE SCRIPTS FOR THIS ....but? YOU NEED TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PROBLEM of WHY THIS IS HAPPENING....

My daughter has severe migraines, extreme fatigue and cannot go to public school. Tried home schooling and it was too hard for her to concentrate. what do I do?

My sons has a severe learning disability, ADHD and dyslexia.there ages are 12 and 9 yr of age. Public school was failing them!!!! Public school is not set up to teach students with even the slightest learning disabilty. By the time they get to h.s. they are tired of trying and failing. I do not want this for my son! Am trying to find a school for them.. they need help and public school can't help them..We stay in kissimmee. I DON'T WANT TO LOOSE MY BOYZ TO THE STREETS!

I am a single ma of age 35yrs, working at the Liberia Refugg Repatriation and Resettlement Commission-LRRRC, My salary is US100.00, which can't cover all of our expenses. It is a heavy load on me as a single ma living in on(1) room. The name of their school is Liberty Elementary School, on the 9th Street, Sinkor-Monrovia/Liberia. Please help me give these kids the best of education and a home to call their own. Thanks.

 in response to Anti-publicschool...   HEY!  I went to public school, got great grades and went to a great college -  it's all what you make of it. I care INTENSELY for my children but can't afford tuition, so I did exhasutive research and finally found a charter school.  It took me many years to get in through their lottery!  I agree, public schools are asked to do the impossible.  There are charter schools, which can be a great alternative and "free" of charge.  If you want a scholarship you have to ask (or beg) the school for one.  Also, you may be able to apply for scholarship grants through groups like Elks, Shriners, or even through your employer.

 in response to avene...   YOU have got to be kidding me...you think public school is free???  I can assure you every time I pay my property and state tax the public schools are NOT free.  and the education the kids are forced to accept in some cases is below poor, but we have to keep feeding the teachers union and not care about the kids.  In a fair world if a person chose to put their kids in a private school they would be exempt from school tax in their area.  they could then use that money for a school of their choice.  If schools had to compete uncaring or imcompetent teachers would be gone.

Your a loser!  It is not up to you if someone wants a public or private school.  No difference in getting a grant for college or for elementary school.  Find something else better to do.

Does any one know of any places to get private school scholarships.  I too agree with wanting to keep kids in the same school.  People from private schools need to stand together to try and get more scholarships/ vouchers.  We all need to work together as a community.

My daughter has a severe learning disability, ADHD and dyslexia.  Public school was failing her!!!!  Public school is not set up to teach students with even the slightest learning disabilty.  I am a special ed. teacher at our local high school.  I work hard daily to help my students succeed and keep them in school.  By the time they get to h.s. they are tired of trying and failing.  I do not want this for my daughter!  There is a school in a neighboring town that is for students with learning disabilities.  My daughter has made incredible gains!  they have discovered talents and strengths in her that the public school would have never found.  Public school will keep passing them on. Most of these kids will never get a high school diploma. 

Yes, I chose for my daughter to attend this private school but my daughter deserves a free and APPROPRIATE education just like yours, reagardless of a learning disability! You have no idea what parents of these children experience.  Be thankful that you do not need to go to the ends of the earth to discover your child's talents and strengths.  Until you have experienced my situation or anyone else, maybe you should bite your tongue!
